Calli had a seizure this morning for first time ever.
I was sitting at my desk,
paying the bills
and I heard a strange yell
I ran to my room, where she was lying in my bed,
I knew right away what was happening

I have seen this before, on a much grander scale...the grand-mal type of scale....
Hers was much smaller, she was confused bu awake
She was rolling back and forth, and I cushioned her head,
and she just cried and looked into my eyes and said "help."

I began praying in the spirit over her
And matched her gaze to mine
I felt such peace
Nothing but calm surrounded us in the middle of it
I was not afraid.

She however, was terrified and confused and did not know what was going on.
After things calmed down, she was just so tired and fell asleep.

Now, hours later, she can not contain her tears remembering how it felt.
She told Aidan and me that she got a shooting pain in her neck that went to her head, and then began to rock like she was "In a boat..."

She was confused and did not understand what was happening
or why she could not control her body
She could not call call me out loud or even form the words
Finally a forced yell escaped her lips
That is when I came to her

Please pray for us-

I love you my sweets, I'm sorry you had to go through that

  1. And I am sorry too. How wonderful that you went right to the Lord for your help. Where can we go but to the Lord? We were at our pastor's home last night and prayed for Calli. We will continue to pray.

  2. I am so sorry you had to bear that Calli. :( Asher had a seizure when he was 2 and it was scary. I was a mess but thankfully you were able to remain calm, Lucy. God has given you much grace.

By the way, I love the banner outside your house!

  4. I bet Calli was scared! I hope she doesn't have any more of them. You have to be the strongest mom out there, I don't know if I could have remained as calm as you. Calli and Aiden are lucky to have you. I will continue my prayers for your entire family. Hugs to all of you.

  5. It's odd that I heard about this through a prayer group and not the blog- but so good to know that people all over the world are praying for your family; how awesome is that?!! I know that had to be a frightening experience, but am so glad that Calli had her mama there to comfort her through it.
Yours is a beautiful family: every single member of it, from Mike to Aidan (that's oldest to youngest!) :) What strong bookends to have too!
I'm glad you got away this weekend! Awesomely fun trip, can't wait to see pics and hear about it! Love you all so much. xxoo
